Noise Analysis: This tool essentially functions as a reverse denoising algorithm, targeting not the removal of noise but the exclusion of the image's background. It accomplishes this by employing a straightforward separable median filter to isolate the noise. Noise Analysis proves invaluable for identifying various image manipulations, such as airbrushing, deformations, warping, and perspective-corrected cloning. It delivers the most accurate results when applied to high-quality images, as smaller images might lack sufficient information for this tool to perform optimally.

  • Noise Amplitude: Adjusts the intensity of the noise, making it brighter.

  • Equalize Histogram: Applies histogram equalization to the noise, unveiling or concealing specific details. It's advisable to experiment with both histogram equalization and scaling for comprehensive noise analysis.

  • Opacity: Regulates the transparency of the noise layer. Reducing opacity allows you to view more of the original image.

Error Level Analysis: This tool is designed to compare the original image with a recompressed version, facilitating the identification of manipulated areas in various ways. Manipulated regions may appear either darker or brighter than similar, unaltered sections of the image.

  • Quality: Customize this parameter to match the original image's quality before any Photoshop alterations.

  • Error Scale: Amplifies the distinctions between the original and recompressed images.

  • Opacity: Controls the transparency of the differences layer, offering the flexibility to reveal more of the original image by lowering the opacity setting.
